DON'T BE FOOLED
It is important to understand that not all diamond certifications are equal. Many labs "over"-grade their diamonds. The only two certifications I offer are GIA and AGS. When you are comparing diamond prices, make sure you take the certifications into account, because it is very possible you are not actually comparing apples to apples, and you will not be getting the best value for your purchase. Remember that a diamond is an investment that will last forever.
DIAMOND EDUCATION
Buying a diamond can be confusing. Let us help you through the process. You can start with some of the education we've put together for you.
DIAMOND CUT
A diamond's cut is considered to be the most important of the four Cs. It is important to understand how a diamond's proportions and the relationship between them affects its brilliance, fire, and scintillation.
DIAMOND COLOR
When jewelers speak of a diamond's color, they are usually referring to the presence or absence of color in white diamonds. Color is a result of the composition of the diamond, and it never changes over time..
DIAMOND CLARITY
When we speak of a diamond's clarity, we are referring to the presence of identifying characteristics on and within the stone. While most of these characteristics are inherent qualities of the rough diamond and have been present since the earliest stages of the crystal's growth below ground, a few are actually a result of the harsh stress that a diamond undergoes during the cutting process itself.
DIAMOND CERTIFICATION
Most consumer purchases of significant value come with important certified documentation. Houses have deeds. Vehicles have titles and registration. But what about something as important as a diamond?
diamond care
Diamonds are remarkably durable, resistant to scratching except by another diamond, and maintain their brilliant fire extremely well. These qualities make a diamond well-suited to regular wear and are perfect for engagement and wedding rings, which are usually worn every day..
